Millie Rose Wood. age 57, of Janesville passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Agrace Center for Hospice and Palliative Care surrounded by loved ones. She was born on June 12, 1961 in Viroqua, WI, the daughter of Morris and Gertrude Bjerkos. Millie graduated from UW La Crosse. She married Charles E. “Ed” Wood on May 25, 1985. Millie was employed in the human resources department at Lab Safety (Grainger) from January 14, 1991 to April 29, 2005. She was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears  and  NASCAR. She was especially fond of # 24, Jeff Gordon and #48, Jimmy Johnson.  Millie loved dogs and cats, especially Dobermans. She was a collector of penguins, Elmo’s, Dobermans and Scooby-Doo’s. She had a great liking for Dairy Queen Blizzards and all flavors of M & M’s

Millie is survived by her former husband, Ed Wood, two sisters, Mary (John) Suddie of Galena, IL, Anastasia “Annie” Bjerkos of Huntley, IL, two brothers, Michael Bjerkos and Paul (Sonja) Bjerkos both of Westby, WI, nieces and nephews and her two beloved kitties, Lucy and Ricki. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Joseph Bjerkos and Gerald “Butch” Bjerkos.

Services are at 3 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville with Pastor Jon Grice of Roxbury Church of Christ officiating. Private interment will be at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Cashton, WI. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, August 23^rd at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home. Cake, refreshments and memory sharing will follow the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin.
